Spring
Bayou-Epiphany
The
Victorian
homes
are
reminiscent
of
the
time
in
the
early
1900’s
when
this
area
was
known
as
the
“Golden
Crescent,”
famous
for
visits
by
notables
of
government,
stage,
screen,
and
the
arts.
Craig
Park,
which
is
used
for
many
local
festivals,
is
located
here.
The
dock
at
the
Bayou
is
also
noted
for
the
cross
diving
ceremony
on
Epiphany
Day.
As
thousands
of
spectators,
national
news
reporters,
and
network
cameras
record
the
moment,
the
boys
search
for
the
cross.
The
retriever
emerges
triumphantly
from
the
water
and
is
borne
on
the
shoulders
of
the
divers
to
the
Archbishop
and
to
the
Cathedral.
It
is
believed
that
he
receives
a
special
lifelong
blessing
from
God.

connected

one-mile
causeway
to
the

It
is
truly
a
jewel
of
the
city.
